No return: Coronavirus is the new Normal

There is no “returning to normal.” This is the new normal.

Burning Man cancelled 2020. Guess what? Burning Man will be canceled in 2021 as well. Think anywhere in the world will have any large events before a vaccine is widely deployed? Think doctors who are already burning out want to be more overwhelmed? Hoping we will have a safe vaccine in 12 months that we give to a billion people when it typically takes much longer to do that safely?

Best way to keep BMOrg running is to accept that there will be no burn for at least 2 years and plan around that.

Since we can’t hold it on the playa once a year, how do we bring Burning Man values into our lives every day around the world?

Now is a time for change. Let’s seize the opportunity. Plan for the future as it looks and don’t be caught surprised again as we were in March.
